Animal Crossing for gamecube?

This game is older, but I play it on my Wii every so often because it brings back good childhood memories. Anyways, I have this frog named Tad and my character was walking around and Tad ran up to me and was saying things like: "I don't know what I'm feeling, but I like you." In other words, he declared his love for my character. When he would get done talking, I'd move a step and he would run back up to me. This happened about 5 times and then it was over. This only ever happened once. I just want to know if this ever happened to anyone else.
