Classic rock(rock n roll) v/s heavy metal?

i personally feel classic rock s the mother of all rock genre and nothing can come close to it...... v hav amazing artists such as the beatles chuck berry, doors, pink floyd, ccr,led zeppelin, acdc(they r also rock n roll), queen,etc....... on the other side metal genre also has some good artists... but which genre do u think is the king of rock?????
