Modern music for a Deadhead/Beatlemaniac, et. all?

I insanely love all the oldies. And I've found that there's not much that compares to classic rock :/ but I really like U2 and REM. They've been around for a bit but their music still seems to be pretty meaningful. Modern stuff just isn't the same..
