My dad has always loved music, I want to create a compilation of the greatest hits of his time. Suggestions?

My dad loves all types of music, and growing up he taught me to love it too. Music has always been something that my dad and I shared; he always has a song suggestion for every situation in my life. His birthday is coming up, and I usually get him a collection of music from one of his favorite bands. He always get excited when he sees the TimeLife series infomertials. My dad recently got a job the requires a lot of traveling, and I want to create a collection of all of the greatest songs from his "younger days". My dad was born in 1962. He was really into rock. A few bands that I know he loves are Lynyrd Skynyrd, CCR, the Eagles and such... He also like ABBA haha... I would appreciate any suggestions on songs and/or bands from the late 60s- early 80s.
